For the most part, Jonathan believes that his perceived lack of success was due to a number of factors such as an extremely high case load, lack of adequate training, and the large number of parents who do not seem interested enough in their children, and who did not trust him. He did not feel he could influence the factors he felt attributed to his limited success and didnââ¬â¢t believe there was a contingency he could help his clients. Jonathan also lacked a sense of competence (or self-efficacy) in his ability to support his clients. He believes that the factors causing him to be unsuccessful are not changing and expects that the future will lead to the same results.
